On Saturday, August 5, ITS will upgrade Moodle to version 4.2 from 3.11. Moodle will be unavailable during the upgrade, but ITS will send a confirmation message to campus when it is back online; all course content will remain intact. Also, Moodle Spaces will be upgrades to 4.2 in early fall due to additional infrastructure changes that need to be deployed.
New features of Moodle 4.2 include bulk editing, a “Turn editing on” toggle (not a button), messaging specific students from Assignments, new activity icons, and the introduction of “drawers” to hide and show sidebar navigation and course blocks. Moodle documentation will be updated as needed, but please send a note to help@lafayette.edu should you notice anything amiss with your Moodle course.
