Zoom has introduced a new flow to joining Zoom Waiting Rooms that users on Zoom Clients 5.12.0 will notice beginning March 20. The current experience involves separate dialogue windows that will be combined and customizable in your Zoom settings. You can customize your own waiting room by going to:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Settings.
  3. Click the Meetings tab.
  4. Under Security, click the New waiting room and join before host experience
    toggle to enable or disable it.
  5. If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.

The new settings will not change any current settings or impact any previously-scheduled meetings. For questions or concerns please see Zoom Support or reach out to the Help Desk.
