We’re here for you as we close out the semester

As we near the end of the fall semester, ITS would like to showcase some services and support we think are useful, particularly for students and faculty, during this time of the year.

ITS Help Desk and Tech Lounge

Contact the Help Desk with support issues at (610) 330-5501 or help@lafayette.edu. The Tech Lounge is a great place for walk-up support or even a place to sit and relax in a comfy chair. Hours and more information are available at its.lafayette.edu/get-help/tech-lounge.

Moodle help is available online and in-person

Helpful Moodle support documentation, including tips for using the gradebook, is available at help.lafayette.edu/moodle. Or, if you’re stuck and need to talk with someone, contact the Help Desk to be put in touch with an instructional technologist.

Access to thousands of online video tutorials

Over two hundred thousand online tutorials are available on Lynda.com for a broad range of technology topics such as Microsoft and Adobe applications, programming languages, and video editing. Access Lafayette’s instance of Lynda.com from My Lafayette or directly at lynda.lafayette.edu.

Save your work. Often.

Remember to save your work often, particularly when working with programs that create local files (e.g., Word, PowerPoint). When working in the labs, it’s important to save your work often in “the cloud” (e.g., U or P drive, Google Drive). Beyond unlimited storage, Google Drive provides you options like Google Docs or Google Slides that saves your work automatically in real time. Read more about saving your data at help.lafayette.edu/storage.

Available computer lab spaces

In addition to the computer lab spaces available for campus users in Skillman Library, ITS provides computers & printing services in Farinon 208 and Pardee 104.

Microsoft Office is available to you at no charge

If you need access to Microsoft Office applications, Office 365 is available for free to the Lafayette community for their personal computers.

Technology equipment at Skillman Library

A collection of technology devices such as digital cameras, audio recording kits, and microphones are available for check-out from the Skillman Library circulation desk. In addition, laptops are available for use in the library for up to three hours. A list of equipment is available in the library catalog.
