Symantec AntiVirus
Part of protecting your computer means installing anti-virus software and keeping it current. In an effort to protect the campus from virus outbreaks, Lafayette has licensed Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) Corporate Edition software for campus and home use.
Do a Symantec 'Live Update'
Although Symantec AntiVirus regularly updates itself automatically, "Live Updates" of the software and virus definition files can be run on-demand as well.
Scan for Viruses
Symantec Anti-Virus provides "real-time" anti-virus protection—any time a file is accessed SAV scans it for viruses before opening it. If you think your computer might have viruses that existed prior to the installation of SAV, or that you may have acquired a file containing a virus, running a system scan is a good idea. To do so…
