NAC registration July 1
On Wednesday, July 1, ITS wiped out existing NAC registrations. To get a network connection on your on-campus computer you will need to authenticate via the Cisco Clean Access Agent. Unless you uninstalled the Agent, this should be a simple matter of waiting for the Agent login window to appear, then providing your Network ID credentials. If you uninstalled the Agent, you will need to reinstall it on or after July 1 according to the procedures described at http://its.lafayette.edu/help/nac/registration.
What you need to do on or after July 1:
Restart your computer first thing on July 1 (or whatever day you first work after July 1). Within a few minutes after you log in to your computer, the Cisco Clean Access Agent login window should appear. Log in and you're done.
To ensure the login window appears, you might want to do the following:
- Windows users: click the Cisco Clean Access Agent icon in your system tray (typically at the lower right of your screen) and make sure "Popup Login Window" is checked. If it is not checked, check it. (The icon has a greenish-blue background and an image of a key (although tired eyes may think it's a magnifying glass and not a key).)
- Mac users: click the Cisco Clean Access Agent icon in the top right menu and make sure "Auto Popup Login Window" is enabled. If it is not checked, check it. (The icon has a blackish background and an image of a key (sort of) with right-pointing arrow.)
If you don't see a Cisco Clean Access Agent icon on your system, chances are you've uninstalled or disabled the Agent. If the login window never appears on July 1, start a Web browser and try to go somewhere. You should be prompted to download and install the Agent application.
