ITS is upgrading File Service this summer. This will require several planned file service outages which will last from late at night until early in the morning. During each of the outages, one or more file servers (e.g. the "P drive") will be unavailable. Each outage and the affected server(s) will be announced in advance here as the upgrade progresses.

As of July 15, 2009, all shared directories have been migrated to the new servers.

Beginning in early August, user home directories will be moved to the new servers. Macintosh users using AFP can begin using the new server names now (home.lafayette.edu will cease being valid for employees once the migration begins). Windows users will not need to make any changes.
