Changes to wireless network
On January 20, 2009, ITS extended its implementation of enhanced network security using NAC (Network Admission Control) to the wireless network. The major noticeable change is that authentication for wireless access is now through the Cisco Clean Access Agent instead of a Web browser.
Additionally...
- There are no longer "LC" and "Guest" wireless networks. All wireless access is via the LC network and requires Network ID credentials. Employees and students can obtain guest Network ID credentials for invited guests of the college via the Guest Account Request form.
- There is no longer a "Gaming" wireless network. All game consoles should be configured to associate with the LC network.
- Wireless will require re-authentication after two hours of network inactivity, which is defined as either your wireless network card or your computer being powered down for at least two hours. The Cisco Clean Access Agent will present a login dialog whenever authentication is required.
