You can set up a custom vacation message that will be sent automatically in response to everyone who sends you mail while you are away.

To set up your vacation message:

  1. Log into WebMail.
  2. Select the Rules or Rules (Filters) button, sometimes represented by a cog. (The precise look and title of the button varies with the Webmail layout you're using.)
    The Rules (Filters) button
  3. This opens the Filters screen.
    The Filters screen.
  4. Locate the Vacation Message section of the screen.
  5. Type the text that you want to appear in automatic reply messages in the Message Text: box.
  6. Click the Enable Vacation Message button above the text box.

As soon as the vacation message has been enabled, any emails sent to your address will receive an auto-reply that contains the text of your vacation message. Each person who sends you an email will receive only one copy of your vacation message regardless of how many emails they send you while the vacation message is enabled.

The emails sent to your account will remain in your Webmail Inbox until you do something with them in Webmail or download them to a POP mail client. When you return from vacation and want to end the automatic reply, repeat the steps above to return to the Filters page and click Disable Vacation Message to deactivate auto-replying.
