Changing your Password and establishing a Challenge/Response key
The Password Change Utility allows you to change or reset your Network ID password. In order to take full advantage of the utility, you also need to establish a Challenge/Reponse key.
The Network ID is used for Email, Novell, NetStorage, wireless Internet access, Skillman Library Macintosh logins, Moodle, and other systems.
Changing your password
- Go to https://password.lafayette.edu
- Click "Change your Network ID Password"
- Enter your Network ID, Current Password, the New Password you wish to use, and your New Password again for confirmation. Note: Passwords must be between 6 and 12 characters long and you can't reuse an old one.
- After submitting the form you should see the "Password successfully changed" confirmation screen:
To set up a challenge/response key
- Go to https://password.lafayette.edu
- Enter your Network ID and password. Type a challenge question that only you would know the answer to, such as "What was the name of your first pet?" Type the response to the question, then type it again for confirmation.
- After submitting the form you should see a screen telling you that the Utility "Successfully stored challenge and response":
