Native File Access for Mac
Native File Access for Mac provides access to Novell network drives without having to install a Novell client. Native File Access requires OSX version 10.0 or later.. Access to network drives via native File Access is available only when on campus; network drives can be accessed from off-campus using NetStorage.
- Download the Native File Access for Mac icons from http://its.lafayette.edu/downloads/mac/mac_nfa.zip
- Open the mac nfa folder on the desktop. You should see two
icons, one for Home Drive and one for Shared Drives. Drag them to your dock or desktop. - Double-click on the icon if on the desktop, single-click if in the dock.
- Enter your Network ID and password in the "Connect to Server" dialog.

- When logging into Home Drives, select the Volume with the label that ends with your user group (Faculty, Staff or Students) select OK.

To access any Shared drives, select the drive name (P_Drive or Q_Drive). - After logging in, your Novell directories, will be accessible by clicking on the globe icon now on the desktop, or by browsing for your directory using the Finder. Your data can be saved (dragged and dropped from the Finder) and retrieved from any networked computer on campus.
- To log out, you can click the Eject symbol next to the Volume in the Finder window, or simply drag the globe icon on the desktop to the Trash in the Dock—the Trash bin will appear as an Eject symbol.
