Connection Information
If you have a laptop equipped with a wireless card, you can connect to Lafayette's wireless network. Depending on location, your laptop's wireless card should find two networks: LC and Guest. Before attempting to log in to wireless you must first choose and connect to the appropriate network.
After you connect, the first attempt to access a Website should produce the "Lafayette College Wireless Access" page. In order for your network connection to function you must log in through this page first. The LC network requires the Network ID and password; the Guest network requires an email address. Successful logins to the LC network will allow access to campus network services as well as the Internet; the Guest login provides Internet access only. The connection should last as long as the laptop is powered on and being used for network access; the connection will be lost after two hours of inactivity, after which the login process must be repeated.
Note: since a valid network connection is not obtained until after you log in to wireless, you must log in to the wireless network before trying to log in to Novell.
Consult the How-to document for detailed instructions on connecting to the wireless networks.
